Coming in 2018: Home Energy Score Program

Have you heard? Any home that is listed for sale beginning on January 1, 2108 will require a Home Energy Score. What is that? Similar to MPG on a car, the score will reveal how energy efficient your home is. Since a good chunk is spent heating + cooling a home - this can help buyers determine if the home is sufficiently efficient.

If you're thinking about selling next year - it would be wise to do some research and make any upgrades which can improve your homes score.

Energy Efficient Upgrades

Typical problems: old drafty windows, inefficient HVAC systems, drafty ducts, old appliances, air leaks, outdated lightbulbs etc.

If you're curious about getting a heads up - start with the Energy Trust of Oregon to do a quick online assessment. They are available for a more in depth review of your home as well.

Here's a list of cash incentives you can earn by making energy efficient upgrades as well.

Let me know if you have any questions! I'm happy to help guide you through the process.
