There is so much noise pollution in the world right now - that I've decided to contribute in a positive way when I close a transaction. I care about my clients and the causes which are important to them. That's why I'm thrilled to have made a donation to New Avenues for Youth on behalf of Jeff and Mark.

When you're in the business of helping people buy and sell homes - you realize how lucky you are to be in the position to do so. But so many people cannot afford to rent a home - much less buy one. And young people who may not be equipped to earn wages are especially vulnerable.

New Avenues delivers support and resources that enable foster, at-risk, and homeless youth aged 14-24 to overcome their barriers and realize their potential. Through direct service, community partnership, advocacy, and data-driven evaluation, we help youth exit street life and prevent those at risk of homelessness from experiencing it.

What stood out to me - and Mark + Jeff - was their advocacy for LGBTQ youth. They created a housing program specifically for LGBTQ youth in 2015 - the first of it's kind in Portland! We applaud the great work of this organization and their continued success in helping homeless youth gain the tools for sufficiency.
