I find myself on NE Fremont quite often - so this weeks focus will be Beaumont-Wilshire. I've worked on a few transactions in the area and find everyone I meet to be truly lovely.

HISTORY
The Beaumont neighborhood was established in 1910! No one knows for sure who/what this neighborhood area was named after - but rumor has it that Beaumont means "beautiful mountain" in French. Though hardly a mountain - the area is slightly elevated (have you seen some of the amazing views on the ridge?) and developers wanted to highlight that feature.
COMMUNITY
This neighborhood features two primary commercial centers filled with local businesses:
+ Beaumont Village (Fremont St)
This area is also home to Wilshire Park and Beaumont Middle School.
MY FAVORITES
Strolling down NE Fremont is always lovely with it's unique mix of retail and residential - stretching from NE 42nd Ave to NE 47th Ave. If it's your birthday week - Pip's is a must! You'll enjoy a dozen of their mind-blowing little donuts for free!! The line is bound to be long, but it will be worth it.
A couple of my favorite shops are in shouting distance. Adorn has top-notch sales people and a lovely mix of comfy/stylish clothes and jewels (tip: if you love the store - ask to be part of the Adorn Style Family). Amenity Shoes is right next door with sassy shoes and The Arrangement is a great place to find gifts and cards.
Enjoy a lovely night out at Blackbird Wineshop with chocolate and their wines (I once ordered a wine described as "Sophia Lauren in a bottle" - it was true! I ended up buying the bottle!).
SCOOP
The charming Fremont Holiday Fest is a great family event. Enjoy music and a multitude of crafts and activities as you stroll the street. Special discounts and treats at participating businesses. And of course, both Santa Claus (at Grand Central Bakery) and Santa Paws (at Green Dog Pet Supply) will be available for photos.
